Orpheus Choir: A Ceremony of Carols
The divine harmonic writing of Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols has long been a beloved staple of the holiday repertoire. Featuring harp accompaniment and the voices of the Orpheus Choir of Toronto, this candle-lit concert will see a rare performance of Reena Esmail’s Winter Breviary - a piece dedicated to the beauty of darkness and light and composed using three separate Hindustani Raags.

Oakville Choral: The Spirit of Kindness
Experience stunning music, moving poetry and stories about the magic of human connection during the holidays! Featuring soprano Jane Fingler, alto Anika Venkatesh, bass Graham Robinson, with string quartet, organist John Paul Farahat, and pianist Anne Marie Leonard.
Anika is performing as a soloist in this concert, featuring in Bach’s Brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot (BWV 39).

Canadian Chamber Orchestra Presents: Movie Night
In the Canadian Chamber Orchestra’s second season, come join their living room at Eglinton St George to celebrate 21st century composers made famous through Cinema and TV.

Soundstreams Presents: Letters to God
Letters to God is a spiritual exploration of the musical threads connecting Canadian and Japanese culture. It features Japan’s legendary Fujii Percussion (mother Mutsuko Fujii, and daughters Haruka and Rika), Soundstreams Choir 21, The Canadian Children’s Opera Company, Gregory Oh (piano), and Ryan Scott (percussion).
Anika will be performing as part of Soundstreams Choir 21.
Sky In a Small Cage (London)
Delivered by an outstanding cast directed by Frederic Wake-Walker, Rolf Hind’s opera employs excerpts from Rumi’s poetry in translation together with words by the award-winning poet Dante Micheaux to create a powerful multi-disciplinary piece chronicling love, loss, and spirituality. Sky In a Small Cage will open the Barbican’s 2024-25 season, presented by Mahogany Opera.
Anika is part of the six-member all-star ensemble.

Couch Jams “Summer Camp”
TBD is in Anika’s hometown of Vancouver to perform alongside fellow Toronto artist Majo, Vancouver rapper Sam Darkoh, and the Couch Jams House Band. A night of original music, original arrangements, and an incredible intimate musical experience.
Jennarie @ TD Jazz Fest
Toronto-based artist Jennarie plays TD Jazz Fest Village Stage, performing a set of nearly all original music, both released and unreleased. Her unique blend of R&B and jazz lends to her versatile vocals, and she is making waves in the Canadian music scene.
Anika is performing background vocals in Jennarie’s band.
Arkora Presents: Styxs and Stones
Arkora Music, a 13-piece polyphonic fusion consort, has their Toronto debut featuring creations from past Arkora projects, as well as new premieres from the opera Eurydice Fragments, a neo-Baroque cyberpunk trans reënvisioning of the Orphean myth (and inspiration for the concert’s Stygian title) in development with re:Naissance Opera.
Seasonal Birds x TBD
Join folk duo Seasonal Birds alongside TBD for a night of great singing and great songwriting, including the release of the visualizer for Seasonal Birds’ recent EP, “Patience.”

Cultural Landscapes/Paysages culturels: PODIUM 2024
Choirs and singing groups from across Canada and beyond responded to the PODIUM 2024 National Committee’s call for proposals to perform at the Festival in Montreal. The three groups featured in this concert are Babεl Chorus from Toronto (ON), Coroncoro Ensamble Vocal from Bogotá, Colombia, and Concreamus from Toronto (ON).
Anika is singing with both Babεl and Concreamus during this festival.
Full of Grace
A program exploring the dimensions of motherhood in relation to Mary, mother of Jesus. This concert is presented by Together In Worship Canada and is curated and conducted by Mark Wood-Salomon, with David Simon on organ and piano.
Alongside singing with this fantastic choir, Anika is performing selections from Robert Fleming’s “The Confession Stone (Songs of Mary)”, text by Owen Dodson.

The Toronto premiere of the Pulitzer-prize winning opera, “Angel’s Bone” by Du Yun and Royce Vavrek. The contemporary opera is a disturbing and poignant glimpse into the violence of human trafficking, both reminding us of and shattering our preconceptions of what human trafficking is.
Anika is in the ensemble and also steps in to cover the voice of Girl Angel.
